Our story
It’s a short one.
I’d always wanted to have a Shopify store.
I work at Shopify, so I know how good the product is. But nothing beats using it for real.
The problem was I had nothing to sell.
Caroline and I would often talk about “just choosing something” and seeing if we could make it work. But we never took the wholesale plunge.
And then Tom — who also works at Shopify — told me about his store, and I was inspired. I could just scratch my own itch.
In the flurry of optimism that arrived with the new year, I just got it done: I hired a designer and we worked together on a print I’ve been thinking about for a long time.
And so here we are. A shiny new shop and a few prints to sell.
Packaging to think about, trips to the Post Office to make.
It’s been a fun journey, and I’m chuffed with the print itself. It hangs in my kitchen. I get to look at it every day.
Selling isn’t easy, of course, but that’s also part of the point of doing this.
You build empathy for the millions of entrepreneurs that Shopify supports; businesses grinding out those sales every day.
And that’s about it.
This is a shop that serves a purpose and makes me happy.
Hence joy and function.
